What will your book actually cost?
Move the slider, pick what you need, and see a realistic figure in your own currency. This is an estimate built from our actual project data — your written quote will be fixed to your real scope.
A typical business book is 35,000–50,000 words. A novel is 70,000–100,000.

Estimates are converted from GBP at a rate reviewed quarterly and rounded. They are a planning guide, not an offer — your written quote is fixed to your actual scope and is the figure that counts.
Where the money actually goes
Writing is the bulk of it
A ghostwritten book is 200–400 hours of skilled work. That is the single biggest line, and the one where paying less reliably shows on the page.
Design is the best value line
Cover design is a small fraction of the total and has an outsized effect on sales. It is the last place to economise.
Marketing is optional — at first
Fix the listing, the categories and the cover before spending on ads. Those three are free or cheap and move more copies.
What the estimate does and does not include
How much does it cost to write and publish a book?
It depends on what you need. Publishing a finished manuscript — editing, cover, typesetting and distribution — typically starts around £1,450. A full ghostwriting project including publication usually falls between £6,000 and £12,000 depending on length and genre. Our cost calculator gives you a realistic figure in your own currency in about thirty seconds, and every quote we issue is fixed and milestone-based.
How long does the whole process take?
From a finished manuscript to a book on sale is typically eight to twelve weeks. A ghostwritten book from first call to publication runs six to nine months. You receive a dated schedule before you commit anything, and weekly progress updates throughout.
Do I keep the rights and the royalties?
Yes — all of both. Copyright assigns to you in writing, your name goes on the cover, retailer accounts are set up in your name and royalties are paid directly to you. We are paid once, for the work. We never take a percentage of your sales.
Do you work with authors outside the UK?
Constantly. We are a London-registered company working with authors across Europe, North America, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific and Africa. Consultations are scheduled in your time zone, quotes are issued in your currency, and books are distributed to every market Amazon and Ingram serve.
